SAIGNELÉGIER
General information

LOCATION
From July 10 to 17, 2027, during the 21st UECT European Week, cycling tourists from all over Europe will be welcomed in Saignelégier (Switzerland), a historic town of 2,530 residents founded in 1414. Located in northwestern Switzerland, in the Canton of Jura, at an elevation of 980 meters, it is a paradise for active recreation (hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, etc.).
The French border is 8.5 km away. MAP
The Canton of Jura is part of the Jura Trois-Lacs tourist region. The Doubs Regional Nature Park is located within its territory. It offers typical landscapes with numerous picturesque villages such as St-Ursanne, as well as forests, ponds, rivers, and vast, unspoiled open spaces.
The climate here is subarctic continental. Check the weather
The Saignelégier region is part of the Franches-Montagnes, with its wooded pastures and idyllic country roads that will delight cycling tourists.

The Jura Sport Sports Center will also serve as the start and finish point for various road cycling routes that will allow you to explore this region, which is ideal for cycling tours. With three routes available each day from Monday through Friday, plus two “warm-up” rides on Saturday and Sunday, these routes—ranging from easy to moderate to challenging, depending on the route you choose—will allow you to visit as many villages in the Canton of Jura as possible; which is the goal set by the local organizers.
For accompanying guests, the sightseeing program will focus exclusively on tourist attractions, with travel by bus and tourist trains.

REGISTRATION
You’ll find practical information and the online registration form at www.uect.org
Please note: The Swiss organizers wish to provide the best possible welcome to participants of the 21st UECT European Week, which is why attendance will be limited to a maximum of 1,400 people; This figure was calculated based on the number of campsites available at the UECT federal campground and the accommodation options within a 15-km radius of Saignelégier.
Since there will be no FFVélo Federal Week in 2027, only 1,100 French participants will be able to register for and participate in the 2027 UECT Week to ensure that the event is not exclusively French and to guarantee multinational representation, as in previous editions. A computer application will be implemented to manage and track French registrations.

We invite you to review the organization’s tentative schedule (as of November 4, 2026)
Accommodations
UECT Federal Campground
The UECT and the local organisers did not retain the paid supply of individual electrical connections for motorhomes, caravans and tents on the UECT Fédéral Campground, because the electricity company BKW Energie SA, which has the monopoly of electricity operation for Switzerland in the Franches Montagnes Region, i.e. in Saignelégier, offered a quote at a rate of €166 including VAT per connection for 8 days, covering both temporary installation, consumption and maintenance.
Location and Capacity:
The UECT Federal Campground, located near the Jura-Sport Sports Center in Saignelégier, will be organized into four distinct zones as follows:
- Three zones for motorhomes and caravans, with a total capacity of 335 sites, are planned—mostly on grassy meadows, with a few sites on gravel or asphalt.
- One zone tent, with a capacity of 112, is planned on grassy meadows
- Sanitary facilities: Each zone is equipped with blocks containing toilets, a potable water point, sinks for dishwashing, basins for laundry, and a disposal point for chemical toilet waste (black water). Showers—available as either communal or individual units—are located within the Jura-Sport Sports Center.
Due to logistical constraints, it will not be possible to accommodate the following at the same time:
- motorhomes/caravans with tents in the same area, as the area reserved for tents is not accessible to motorhomes/caravans; nor will it be possible to accommodate both tents with motorhomes/caravans in the same area, as these areas are not located in the same place.
At the permanence, 300 electrical connections are provided for the paid supply of recharging electric assistance bicycle batteries, as well as for sleep apnea assistance batteries.
Booking options will close as soon as the quotas for site capacity and electric battery charging have been reached.
See the UECT Federal Campground Rules and Regulations.

Road Bike Routes
The road bike routes are currently being finalized; according to the specifications, the following is planned:
- A 78-km discovery route on Saturday and a 57-km route on Sunday afternoon—unmarked, without aid stations, and featuring GPX tracks,
- Monday through Friday, daily routes with free aid stations, marked routes, and GPX tracks, depending on the day: Monday 32-61-87 km – Tuesday 32-53-87 km – Wednesday 30-54-115 km – Thursday 40-57-89 km – Friday 35-80-109 km. The distance of the routes depends on the daily elevation gain.
- We’ll be in a mountainous region, on roads at elevations ranging from 436 m to 1,273 m; please bring gear ratios suited to your individual goals.
Some of these routes will offer opportunities to “conquer mountain passes,” allowing everyone to add to their list of conquests—especially members of the Club des Cent Cols.
Each participant will receive a printed roadbook and the routes plotted on Openrunner map excerpts, along with downloadable GPX files.
The various cycling routes will be posted online in March 2027 on this page of our website, following a final reconnaissance ride and approval from local and administrative authorities.
The final general program and the various road cycling routes will be posted online in early March 2027 on this page.
- Electrical Outlets:
In the restrooms at the UECT federal campground and in local accommodations, the outlets do not comply with the European Type 3-pin standard but instead conform to Type J under standard SN 441011; a specific adapter will be required for all connections.
The power supply is 230 V AC at 50 Hz. - Mobile phone calls or internet data connections from Switzerland to a European Union (EU) country:
Calls to France or another EU member country are billed at your carrier’s international rate; however, since Switzerland is not an EU member, the “free roaming” rules (roaming charges) do not apply, and many standard plans—particularly French ones—do not include this by default.
With a plan that does not include this feature, calls made or received from Switzerland to an EU country are generally billed by the minute (often between €0.22 and over €1 per minute, depending on the carrier).
We recommend checking with your mobile carrier to avoid being overcharged. - JURA-PASS loyalty card :
During your stay, you will be able to travel for free on public transport (trains and buses) and receive discounts at cheese dairies, for admission to the swimming pool and spa in Saignelégier, and at various tourist attractions. To take advantage of these benefits, you must be in possession of a JURA-PASS guest card.
To obtain it free of charge and receive your card via email a few days before your arrival, please fill out the JURA-PASS form.
This section will be updated as new information becomes available, so we encourage you to check back regularly.
